Conservation Efforts, Rain Forest Alliance & Fair Trade

When we started this company our focus was on roasting great gourmet coffee with an outdoor related theme that leans towards fly fishing. As we have grown we have found ourselves on a path towards conservation efforts. We are very happy to help support the Michigan Arctic Grayling Research Initiative, Trout Unlimited Alaska's Save Bristol Bay Campaign, the Colorado Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, Big Horn Sheep Monitoring Program and most recently the Rocky Mountain Goat Alliance.

We only sell Rainforest Alliance (RFA), Fair Trade Organic (FTO) and Fair Trade (FT) coffees. We order our green coffee beans from just 2 importers with Balzac Brothers being our main supplier. As time allows we will be posting more coffee highlights for each of the coffees we use.

As for the conservation groups we support, they each receive up to $3 per bag of coffee sold. So when you buy Sockeye Sumatra, Big Game Blend or Arctic Grayling you are not just getting great coffee you are also supporting these great organizations.

We all recently saw the Pebble Mine has been stopped and now Trout Unlimited Alaska will focus their efforts on getting something in place to permanently protect Bristol Bay. For the Michigan Arctic Grayling Research Initiative, thanks to the research that people like Nicole Watson and others are doing, they have a great chance of succeeding. You can read more about that here https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/msu-researchers-part-of-team-attempting-to-reintroduce-arctic-grayling-to-michigan-streams

We will have more updates soon and look forward to working with these groups in 2021 and we are very excited to have teamed up with the Rocky Mountain Goat Alliance for 2021 too.
